The Future Direction of Halal Food Additive and Ingredient Research in Economics and Business: A Bibliometric Analysis

The increasing growth trend of the global Muslim population implies an increase in consumption halal products. importance market attracts much attention from many stakeholders, including academia/researchers. Many scholars have conducted studies on topics. However, these cover broad topics, such as ICT potential sector, supply chain, Islamic Law, and other related to natural sciences. This study aims research gap future trends food additive ingredient business economics using bibliometric analysis. data were obtained Scopus database 1999 2022. authors analyzed keyword “Halal Consumption Production” by general or Haram Additive Ingredient”. dataset was uploaded VOSviewer R language (Bibliometrix) software. found a deficit additives ingredients economics. co-occurrence network output demonstrated that should consider clusters lower density central positions, production–consumption healthy foods, logistics health effects. Bibliometrix strategic diagram 2020–2022 thematic evolution demonstrates three out four quadrants (i.e., emerging declining, basic, motor themes). suggests areas field ingredients, ethical sustainable sourcing, responsible consumption, consumer sovereignty, international trade, economic modeling, security, green/sustainable regulation product safety.
